Moussaoui tries to change his fate but to no avail

In the final days of Zacarias Moussaoui’s sentencing he escaped the death penalty as the jurors decided on the may 3rd life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. Weeks up to his final sentencing, the juror were allowed to hear the tragedies from the families of the World Trade center victims, countless tapes and videos , notably a risky run from the defence team, and even outbursts from Moussaoui himself saying the cause was justified.
Now that the sentence is over and in full-swing Moussaoui has completely changed his tune. He claims that he was surprise to receive a fair trial and now wants to withdraw his guilty plea. However, Judge Leonie Brinkema quickly turned down the request. She said federal law prevents a criminal defendant from withdrawing a guilty plea after sentencing. But is he playing his luck on false hopes? He claimed he had no connection whatsoever with the hijackers or Mohhamed Atta although that can probably be contested. By playing this tune he might just get the death penalty!
